Contemporary Dance Workshop with the DOT504 Company

DANCE PERFECT Studio organizes from August 26th to August 30th, 2024 the regular summer workshop of Contemporary dance for all interested dancers who want to discover something new and improve their technique.
Three 90-minute lessons a day from Monday to Friday, cover Contemporary dance technique and dance acrobatics techniques taught by three excellent teachers.

Who is the workshop designed for
The workshop is designed for intermediates and advanced dancers, performers and those interested in exploring the possibilities of Contemporary Dance technique, and the related acrobatic skills necessary for any modern performer.
During the workshop you will work on improving fitness, speed, agility, coordination, movement memory and mobility. You will also improve your knowledge of dance technique.

In cash or by card upon handover of application at the reception desk or by bank transfer. With handover of application we will provide to you the necessary data for bank transfer payment with QR code.

Klára Tilcerová
She graduated from the T. G. Masaryk School of Art in Chomutov, field of study Dance. She graduated from the J. E. Purkyně University with a Master's degree in Sport and Health. During her studies she completed a one-year internship at the Universidad de Málaga and at the same time at the Conservatorio de Superior de Danza Ángel Pericet. After finishing her career as a modern gymnast in 2018, she has been working in contemporary dance as a freelance dancer and teacher.
She performed in Prague's Academy of Performing Arts projects Hungry Hearts and Biorytmus, currently she is working in National Theatre in pieces Beauty and the Beast (Prague) and Here I am, Orlando (Brno).
Their work will focus on floorwork and the use of gravity and inertia in dance practice. Afterwards, she will focus on basic principles of acrobatic elements in dance. All of this will then be used in the final short choreography.

Jarek Cemerek
Jarek Cemerek
Renowned choreographer, teacher and dancer, active all over the world. In the fall of 2023 he gave his master class at the most prestigious art school in the world - Juilliard School in New York and choreographed in Boston. He is a jury of international dance competitions. He has received several awards, most recently as a professor at the A. Bruckner University in Austria.
As a teacher or choreographer he has also collaborated with many dance institutions and festivals, including DV8, Ballet Junior de Geneve, Carte Blanche, Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris et de Lyon, New Zealand Dance Company, Gothenburg Opera Dance Company, Korea National University of Arts, Dance School of Shangai Theatre Academy, KHiO Oslo, Skanes Dance Theater, Codarts Rotterdam, Dance New Amsterdam and Peridance, New York, Palucca Schule, Dresden, Balettakademien Göteborg, The Place, London, the Royal Ballet School, Holstebro (Denmark), Iceland Dance Company, NorrDans (Sweden), Lenka Vagnerová Dance & Company and many others.
His class aims to encourage a sense of body awareness and efficiency as well as physical articulation. It will start with simple exercises to build strength and to form a good foundation in order to get the body ready for the day. Special emphasis will be made on healthy body mechanics, principles of physical laws, efficient use of weight, falls to the floor, jumps etc.

Paulína Šmatláková
Paulína Šmatláková
In 2013 she graduated from the Faculty of Music and Dance at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. She continued her studies at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, where she received a Bachelor with honours in Contemporary Dance.
In London, as a choreographer and performer, she became part of an interdisciplinary physical theatre group, where she co-created Lingering Games, presented on the festival in Taipei.
In 2017-2020 she was a member of the ensemble Holstebro Dansekompagni (orig. Blackbox Dance Company) in Denmark, where she co-worked with choreographers as Ben Wright, Marie Brolin-Tani, Jason Mabana a Tina Tarpgaard.
Since 2022 she collaborates with BURKICOM company under the direction of Jana Burkiewicz and performs in projects Island! and The Nutcracker.
She is currently working on the independent dance scene in Denmark, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
During the workshop you will discover the authenticity of your own movement and build strength, dynamics and variety in your body. You will learn the basic principles of floor contact and inverted postures. You will focus on dynamics, rhythm and lightness that will lead the way to your own strength and explosiveness in dance.
