The MES(s) competition team

  • Juniors (10-14 years old)

Competition team The MES[s]
The team is intended for young dancers who are interested in street dance but want more than just attending a regular weekly class. It is intended for those who want to take their dancing to the next level, want to be part of a competitive team, have team spirit and a sense of discipline.

The team focuses on street dance styles such as Hip-hop, Funk, House dance, Dancehall, Afro, etc.
During lessons, dancers improve their skills in individual styles. They learn to feel the music, work on their unique dance expression and individual creativity and self-confidence. Dancers learn to perceive space and orientation in it. Get used to teamwork and dance performance during performing.

Outline of team preparation
From September to January (first semester), the competition team undergoes technical and performance training. Two training sessions per week (90-minute each) and additional weekend training camps for choreography preparation.
For the competition team to work effectively, it is essential that all its members form a unified group. The February-June season (second semester) is devoted entirely to working on competition choreography. The competition season begins mostly on March, both for cup- (single-round) and qualifying competitions.

IMPORTANT:
Participation in competitions is primarily dependent on the quality of training.
The foundation of the team's success is regular attendance, hard teamwork, and the active involvement of each dancer both in and outside of training. (Learning missed choreos, practicing difficult parts at home, etc.).
Participation in weekend training camps and other team activities is also a matter of course.

The success of the entire team depends on these prerequisites.

Teaching
A typical training lesson consists of a warm-up, strength training, working on the technique of individual dance styles, practicing basic steps, working on musicality, teaching dance combinations, and working on choreography.

What you should know before joining The MES[s] team
The course fee is CZK 8,900 per semester (Fall 2025). It includes two 90-minute training sessions per week throughout the semester (September-January, February-June).
