Family Weekend

Family Weekend

Not sure what to do with your children at the weekend? We offer you the opportunity to spend a fun and active morning together, enjoying quality time while doing something good for your health.

The Family Weekend program is based on the idea of offering you and your children a fun and effective form of parallel exercise sessions. While you spend time improving your health and fitness through appropriate Strength training, your child can discover new ways of enjoying physical activity in our Fit Kid program. Both programmes share the same goal: improving overall fitness.

Strength Training (10:30-11:30am)
Training based on the principles of DNS – Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (see below) focuses on developing muscle strength, endurance and overall physical fitness. Regular exercise helps strengthen muscles, improve posture, and support bone strength and joint mobility. A variety of equipment is used during the sessions, including resistance bands, small 5 cm medicine balls, foam support blocks, overballs and more.
Proper exercise technique is essential for achieving optimal results. Strength training is suitable for both beginners and more advanced participants – the intensity is adjusted to meet your individual needs.

Fit Kid (10:30-11:45am)
A sports and physical activity programme for children that develops strength, coordination, flexibility and good posture in a fun and engaging way. The sessions combine elements of fitness training and games, helping children develop a positive attitude towards sport and physical activity. Emphasis is placed on improving physical fitness, discipline, teamwork and healthy self-confidence.
Fit Kid also focuses on preventing potential postural and movement imbalances by teaching children correct movement and breathing techniques. The programme gradually helps improve their physical abilities and promotes a healthy lifestyle.

How the Family Weekend Program Works
The programme can be attended by two, three or more participants (parent(s) and child/children), ideally throughout an entire semester (September–January / February–June). This provides the best results for everyone involved.
Individual participation in the programme (either an adult alone or a child alone) is, of course, also possible.

* DNS Method (Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization)
A rehabilitation and training concept developed by a team led by Prof. PaeDr. Pavel Kolář, Ph.D. It is based on the principles of developmental kinesiology – the way the human body naturally learns proper posture and movement during the first months of life.

The Principle Behind the DNS Method
The DNS method is based on the understanding that efficient movement begins with the proper activation of the deep stabilization system – the diaphragm, pelvic floor, deep abdominal muscles and deep back muscles. This stabilization is then transferred to everyday movements as well as sports performance.

The DNS Method
• uses developmental positions of infants (e.g. positions typical of the 3rd–4th month, 6th–8th month, side sitting, etc.),
• teaches proper breathing and activation of the core,
• emphasizes movement quality rather than strength,
• helps correct muscle imbalances and back pain and improves movement efficiency and physical performance.

The DNS method is suitable for:
• people experiencing back or joint pain,
• athletes who want to improve movement technique and prevent injuries,
• beginners and advanced exercisers who want to improve their posture and breathing pattern.

The DNS method is effective when performed correctly and consistently. It is respected by physiotherapists and trainers because it works with the body's fundamental “software” – stability, breathing and movement control.
Successful results require patience, precision and mindful execution of the exercises.
